  • A water hazard conundrum
    A player's ball crosses over a yellow water hazard margin but comes to rest in a part of the water hazard that is marked with red stakes. The player may drop the ball within two club-lengths of where it crossed the margin of the water hazard. Correct / Incorrect?

  • I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts
    Situation 1. As he is approaching the bunker a coconut falls from an overhanging palm tree and comes to rest immediately in front of the player's ball. Can the coconut be removed without penalty?
    Situation 2. His opponent is walking ahead of him and walks up to check if the player's ball is in the bunker and being rather clumsy dislodges a cocunut that was lying near the lip of the bunker which falls in and comes to rest in the bunker. Can the coconut be removed without penalty?
    Situation 3. A coconut is lying within a bunker but there are no coconut trees nearby the bunker. A player knocks his ball into the bunker - can he remove the coconut previously lying there?

  • Behind a pencil lying in the bunker
    A player plays his ball into a bunker and it comes to rest behind a pencil lying in the bunker. Can the pencil be removed as a loose impediment without penalty?

  • Tom & Jerry taking the &^%$ in a water hazard
    Tom & Jerry are playing Strokeplay. Tom, plays his ball into a water hazard where it comes to rest in a playable lie within some long grass. Tom takes a practice swing which touches some of the grass behind the ball but does not ground his club. Does Tom incure a penalty?
    Tom's opponent, Jerry has also played his ball into the same water hazard and takes 3 practice swings but grounds his club in the process each time? Does Jerry incur a penalty? If so how many strokes penalty?

  • The sprinkler's in my head
    A players ball lies just a few inches away from a sprinkler head through the green. The player claims that the sprinkler head is affecting his shot because it is in his direct line of vision and although not affecting his actual swing or stance it IS affecting him mentally. Is the player entitled to relief?
